Meet Our Pastor
Tommy L. Hicklin, Pastor
Pastor Hicklin acknowledged the call to Gospel Ministry in 1978. He became licensed to preach and was ordained to preach in the Gospel Ministry in 1984 at Mt. Period Baptist Church. He was an Assistant Pastor at Mt. Period Baptist Church from 1985-1990. He was called to Pastor at Springhill Baptist Church in 1990.
He served at the Office of Public Relations for the BMACV (Baptist Minister’s Alliance of Columbus and Vicinity) and as President of Ministers and Deacons for the EUMBA (Eastern Union Missionary Baptist Alliance). He is presently serving as 2nd Vice Moderator of the EUMBA and 1st Vice President of the BMACV.
He graduated from George Fish High School in 1968 in Ft. Mill, SC. He also graduated from Durham Business College, Bliss Business College, Titus Bible College, Eastern Union Bible College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Good Shepherd School of Biblical and Cognate Learning. He attended evangelistic seminars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1994 and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1996.
Before Pastor Hicklin became a Pastor, he was a member of the following ministries: Trustee Board, Finance Committee, Church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Instructor, and Ordained Deacon. Since he became a Pastor, he served as an evangelist/revivalist at several other churches primarily in southern states.
